Influenza A H1N1

The 2009 outbreak of the pandemic flu is caused by a new influenza A (H1N1) virus that is not related to other seasonal influenza viruses and that hasn’t been seen in humans before. The World Health Organization (WHO) referred to the family of the virus by the A letter, and to the viral agents that possibly mutate by the letters H (hemagglutinin) and N (neuraminidase).
Gripe A

La actual gripe pandémica aparecida en el año 2009 está causada por un nuevo virus A (H1N1) sin relación con otros virus gripales estacionales y que no había circulado anteriormente en la especie humana. La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) designó con la letra A a la familia del virus y con las letras H (hemaglutinina) y N (neuraminidasa) a los antígenos virales pasibles de mutar.
