Dry Skin

The skin is the largest organ in the body and is crucial in maintaining homeostasis. It regulates the interchange between the internal and external medium, and acts as a barrier, on the one hand avoiding the inflowing of harmful substances and microorganisms, an on the other hand avoiding loss of water and electrolytes. It also plays a role in immune function. Changes in skin function and structure are subject to various environmental factors or diseases, which in turn may lead to the development of xerosis or dry skin.

Piel Seca

La piel es el órgano mayor del cuerpo que cumple funciones vitales para mantener la homeostasis. Regula el intercambio entre el medio interno y el medio externo. Actúa como barrera: por un lado evita el ingreso de sustancias nocivas y de microorganismos, por otro evita la pérdida de agua y electrolitos. Interviene, además, en la función inmunitaria. Algunos factores ambientales o enfermedades propias de los individuos, condicionan la alteración de la función y estructura de la piel y determinan el desarrollo de xerosis o piel seca.
